چکیده

The preparation and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy of a series of fully functionalized poly(propylene imine) dendrimers (DAB-dendr-(NH2)n; n ) 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64) with 3-carboxy-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-1-pyrrolidinyloxy radical end groups is described. The pendant nitroxyl end groups exhibit a strong exchange interaction. As a consequence, the EPR spectrum directly reveals the number of end groups from the splitting between the hyperfine transitions for the lower generations. For the higher generations an increasingly exchanged-narrowed EPR spectrum is observed. The temperature and solvent dependency of the exchange interaction is used to assess the dynamic behavior of the dendritic branches. FT-IR spectroscopy shows that a hydrogen-bonded network between the amide functionalities is present, consistent with the observed solvent effect on the EPR spectra.

Studying the Corrosion Protection Behavior of an Epoxy Composite Coating Reinforced with Functionalized Graphene Oxide by Second and Fourth Generations of Poly(amidoamine) Dendrimers (GO-PAMAM-2, 4)

In this research, graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticles were modified by second and fourth generations of poly(amidoamine) dendrimers in order to improve the particle dispersion quality in the epoxy matrix and therefore its barrier anti-corrosion performance. Confirmation on the GO surface modification by Polyamidoamine generation 2 (PAMAM2) and polyamidoamin generation 4 (PAMAM4) was carried o...

Controlled interparticle spacing through self-assembly of Au nanoparticles and poly(amidoamine) dendrimers.

Control of particle-particle spacing is a key determinant of optical, electronic, and magnetic properties of nanocomposite materials. We have used poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers to assemble carboxylic acid-functionalized mixed monolayer protected clusters (MMPCs) through acid/base chemistry between the particle and dendrimer. Small angle X-ray scattering was then used to establish average ...

HPLC analysis of functionalized poly(amidoamine) dendrimers and the interaction between a folate-dendrimer conjugate and folate binding protein.

Poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers of different generations with carboxyl, acetyl, and hydroxyl terminal groups and a folic acid (FA)-dendrimer conjugate were separated and analyzed using reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Analysis of both the individual PAMAM derivatives and the separation of mixed generations can be achieved using a linear gradient 0-50% acetonitril...

Encapsulation of pyrene-functionalized poly(benzyl ether) dendrons into a water-soluble organometallic cage.

Two generations of lipophilic pyrenyl functionalized poly(benzyl ether) dendrimers (P(1) and P(2)) have been synthesized. The thermal properties of the two functionalized dendrimers have been investigated, and the pyrenyl group of the dendritic molecules encapsulated in the arene-ruthenium metalla-cage, [Ru(6)(p-cymene)(6)(tpt)(2)(donq)(3)](6+) ([1](6+)) (tpt=2,4,6-tri(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,5-triaz...
